About Health Services

Health Services, located in the lower level of Olive Swann Porter Building (OSP), provides convenient on-campus medical care and health education for Wesleyan students. A family nurse practitioner is available to evaluate and treat common illnesses and minor injuries, provide health education, and help students determine when additional medical care may be needed. Physician appointments are also available on campus.

Students who need diagnostic testing, specialized care, or treatment beyond the scope of Health Services may be referred to an off-campus provider. Transportation and costs associated with off-campus care are the student's responsibility, and students are encouraged to confirm insurance coverage with their provider before receiving services.

All services and health information are confidential.

After-Hours & Emergency Care

When Health Services is closed, students may seek care from local urgent care or walk-in medical providers. For a life-threatening or medical emergency, call 911 or contact Campus Safety immediately.

Navicent Health Urgent Care Northwest on Zebulon Rd. and CVS Pharmacy Minute Clinic on Zebulon Rd. are available for urgent medical care when Health Services is closed. For life-threatening emergencies, Coliseum Northside Hospital on Charter Boulevard and Navicent Health on Pine Street provide emergency treatment.

Student Health Insurance

All full-time traditional students, full-time non-traditional students attending day classes, and residential students are required to maintain health insurance that meets Wesleyan College's coverage requirements. Students must complete the required insurance waiver process through CHP by the published deadline. More information is provided below.
