Description

367: Women in Modern Europe.
Goal: To enhance understanding of the social, economic, and political position of women in Europe in the industrial age.
Content: Introduction to feminist theory and women?s history; women?s lives and women?s work in industrializing
Europe; gender and 19th century class formation; the feminization of religion; feminism as a social and political movement; women in nationalist and revolutionary movements; and women and war in the 20th century.
Taught: Fall. Alternate years.
